*Dragon Ball Super: Beerus* will [premiere Oct. 11 at 11:15 p.m. JST on Fuji TV](https://www.fujitv.co.jp/fujitv/news/20260943.html?ref=morganyte.com), giving the anime’s first major storyline a substantial rebuild more than a decade after its original broadcast.

The new series will add scenes, redraw existing material and restructure the story surrounding Beerus’ arrival on Earth. Its creators are calling it an “enhanced” edition rather than a simple remaster.

Episodes will stream on Prime Video and U-NEXT in Japan beginning at 12:15 a.m., 30 minutes after the television broadcast ends. International streaming plans have not been announced.

A new trailer opens with Goku firing a Kamehameha before shifting to his confrontation with Beerus. Frieza also appears alongside several unidentified characters and what Fuji TV describes as a new threat to Earth.

How extensively this version will depart from the familiar story remains unclear, but the footage points toward more than cleaner animation and better-paced recaps.

*Dragon Ball Super: Beerus* revisits material previously adapted in the 2013 film *Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods* and the opening arc of the original *Dragon Ball Super* television series. Beerus awakens from a long sleep, learns that a Saiyan defeated Frieza and eventually arrives on Earth searching for a powerful opponent.

The original television adaptation was produced on a brutal schedule, and its early animation became an easy target online. Rebuilding this specific portion of the series makes sense. It also gives Toei Animation room to reconcile the film, television series and Akira Toriyama’s original concepts before moving further into new material.

Megatera Zero will perform the opening song, “Onogami,” while VK Blanka will perform the ending theme, “Kanpeki no Peki.” Portions of both songs can be heard in the new trailer.

Masako Nozawa returns as Goku, with Koichi Yamadera voicing Beerus. Akira Toriyama is credited for the original work, story and character designs. Naoki Miyahara handles series direction, while Tadayoshi Yamamuro serves as character designer and chief animation director.

The new footage looks markedly more polished than the corresponding episodes from 2015\.

The larger question is how far the reconstruction will go. Frieza’s presence and the unidentified enemies shown in the new visual suggest Toei may have a few surprises waiting beyond another round of Goku fighting a purple cat over pudding.
