****This rant is full of spoilers. If you haven't played the latest Archon Quest, you probably shouldn't read this.**

I'll cut to the chase.

Ronova's death in Genshin Impact was kinda lame.

I was extremely hyped when Genshin Impact dropped one of their first trailers for Snezhnaya and we saw a hypothetical showdown between Ronova and the Tsaritsa:

Now, I knew as soon as I stepped foot in Snezhnaya that scene was probably not going to happen.

But, I still expected our grand battle with Ronova to be epic. And for the first half, it truly was. The Tsaritsa's chess move against Naberius (Rhinedottir) and Ronova was chef's kiss:

Fooling Gold into that setup was diabolical, and Ronova's authority was ultimately stripped from her. But, the major problem with the battle came later. First of all, how in the world was Pierro able to spam that damn weapon over and over with no consequence.

I thought at least he would die an honorable anime death and use all of his might to defeat her, but nope.

Pierro is still alive. In my opinion, he should have died here. His nation is gone. He doesn't really add any value to the story anyway. We have Dain and the Sinners. Most of the Fatui are dead or secretly good guys. We don't need anymore Khaenri'ah plot devices.

He should have used his spite and anger towards the Heavenly Principles to take down Ronova and died with her.

Kind of like how Tellah did Golbez in FFIV when he slapped Cecil across the room and told that chaos goblin they're both going to hell:

Ugh.

Well, that's besides the point. They actually got Ronova and we're barely three updates into the seventh version. This truly is annoying to me. We spent Nod-Krai realizing just how overpowered Rerir was. He fought the entire goddamn nation and a full-powered Columbina.

We barely beat that dude. Then we had to fight Dottore who spent his entire patch flexing on all of us, and then Columbina takes him down after he killed Sandrone. Sure, she came back but we truly felt the stakes about what that madman was willing to do.

Then, he got an encore in Sumeru which was so consequential, Nahida had to use the Pyro Gnoses to destroy Irminsul. Do you seriously know how major that was?

But Ronova's defeat and subsequent death was pretty anticlimactic. She basically lost and threw a temper tantrum and doomed the entire world. I would have appreciated a strategic retreat when she lost her authority and her defeat in the following patch.

Her dying right now feels so incomplete as she was hyped as the major villain of the Snezhnayan arc. But, what's done is done. I do think that Ronova will be brought back.

Hoyo would be stupid not to use her as a banner and a cameo later in the story. Have you seen her design? I tried hard to hate her after her shenanigans in the theater and her hyper-indifferent attitude, but come on.

I was so conflicted there. This total piece of shit tried to kill Paimon with the Frieza death beam but she's such a gorgeous character.

Anyway, I suspect they're going to pull a General Hospital and stitch her into the story come kind of way. This is because when Ronova dropped those nails, they basically haven't been activated yet.

In my opinion, if you wanted to throw a middle finger to the world you were leaving behind, you would set those nails off immediately and go to hell in a burning glory.

Something is really suspicious here.

But, that's just my suspicions and supposition. She could very well be dead. I just think she's lurking somewhere as the Heavenly Principles do need their enforcer of death. Otherwise, what are they going to do?

Naberius did kind of confirm something seems to be wrong with them right now. They're not exactly in the shape to be firing employees.

Now, if Ronova gets a grand re-introduction, I'll apologize and write another column. But, I was super disappointed in Ronova's death and I still am.

I hope the next patch gets right to business and show us how the world is going to deal with those damn nails.

No festivals.

No side-quests.

No friendships.

The world is totally screwed right now and the Tsaritsa's obsession to dethrone the Heavenly Principles is the cause of that, even though I support her views.

Who is going to be the next enemy?

Naberius?

I doubt it. She wanted to off the Tsaritsa right there and would have if Gold didn't walk away.

Istaroth?

Probably not. We barely even know who that is.

Asmoday?

Nope. She's still AWOL and apparently has a new buddy according to the Tsaritsa.

Are any other sinners getting cameos?

Probably not.

It's too late to introduce a new enemy, which is why Ronova absolutely deserved better. Let's hope what Hoyo has in store makes me eat my words.
