GameWith NFT has opened mobile pre-registration for EGGRYPTO X, its upcoming free-to-play monster-raising RPG scheduled to launch in Japan this fall.
The company also revealed the game’s full title, EGGRYPTO X: Otakarajima no Daibōken, which translates to The Great Treasure Island Adventure. Players who pre-register through the Japanese App Store or Google Play will receive a ticket for one free ten-pull after launch.
A specific release date has not been announced.
EGGRYPTO X allows players to raise a customizable monster while assembling a party from other creatures they have already developed. Expeditions continue while the application is closed, with decisions made by the player influencing how the active monster grows.
Much of that progression revolves around inherited skills. Monsters can receive abilities from their companions, allowing players to build different combinations across repeated adventures. Meeting certain conditions may also revive previously undiscovered ancient monsters.
Treasure hunting forms another major part of the game. Parties can challenge large bosses called Colossi, which serve as guardians of ancient ruins. Other players can cooperate during these encounters.
Defeating a Colossus can award equipment called Treasure. Each piece has different properties and can improve a party’s statistics. Some battles also offer a chance to obtain Rare Treasure stored as an NFT.
Raremon NFTs acquired in the original EGGRYPTO can be used in the sequel. GameWith NFT is again working with blockchain developer Kyuzan, which helped create and operate the first game.
The NFT integration will narrow the game’s appeal before anyone even gets to the gacha system.
Still, EGGRYPTO X appears to be building an actual monster-raising loop around its blockchain features instead of presenting digital ownership as the entire game. Whether that loop can stand on its own will matter considerably more than the supposed rarity of its treasure.
The game will be available on iOS and Android with optional in-app and official web store purchases. GameWith NFT has not announced an international version or confirmed which languages will be supported.
