Girls' Frontline 2 Chinese Server Update Adds New Doll 针, Story Content and Progression Features

Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium received a substantial Chinese-server update on October 13, 2026, introducing a new elite Doll, additional story content, character progression features, and several quality-of-life improvements.

The update adds the elite Doll 针 alongside her weapon 天鹅之死, while expanding the 静默突触 storyline and introducing new options for managing friend requests.

Players should also prepare for a relatively large download. According to the official patch notice, the update requires approximately 4.5GB on mobile and 7.5GB on PC.

These changes apply to the Chinese server. The announcement does not establish when, or whether, the same content will arrive on the global version.

New Elite Doll 针 Arrives With Additional Weapons and Outfits

The update introduces 针 as a new elite Doll, accompanied by the elite weapon 天鹅之死. Two additional weapons, 挽歌 and 旧式挽歌, also join the game.

The patch adds new outfits for 针 and OTs-14, alongside character records and progression-related additions.

Limited-time recruitment features increased acquisition rates for four elite Dolls and their associated weapons: 针, 伊格蕾塔, 六分仪, and OTs-14.

The official announcement does not provide verified English names for several of these additions, so their original Chinese names are retained here.

静默突触 Expands With New Story Stages and Rewards

The update continues the limited-time 静默突触 event with new story chapters, combat stages, and the 燃力运动 activity.

Some stages will feature a higher Hero difficulty, giving players additional challenges as the event progresses.

Available event rewards include Collapse Pieces and recruitment-related permits, according to the Chinese patch notes.

A separate seven-day login event, 隐秘终幕, offers 10 limited recruitment permits to players who complete the required logins.

The update also adds two story campaign sections under 镜像冗余, expanding the content available beyond the event itself.

New Seasonal Mode and Knife-Based Combat Skills

One of the larger gameplay additions is 危区探遗, a seasonal mode that tasks players with deploying a scavenging team into dangerous areas to gather supplies while defending against enemies.

Its first season is scheduled to open on October 19 at 12:00, using the schedule published in the Chinese notice.

Players can earn collectibles, merit-related rewards, and weapon cosmetics. The mode also introduces a seasonal progression track with additional rewards.

The update introduces another combat mechanic, 斩域技能, for knife-wielding Dolls.

When a team contains at least three knife users, their additional skills become active. These abilities use a dedicated resource, with each Doll managing its own resource independently.

This creates another team-building consideration for players experimenting with knife-focused compositions.

Friend Requests and Character Progression Receive Improvements

Players can now control who sends them friend requests through the game's settings menu.

The available options include accepting all requests, restricting requests to players above a selected level, or rejecting requests entirely. Players can also choose whether to accept requests when their friend list is full.

A new limit allows each player to send up to 30 friend requests per day.

Character progression also receives updates, including a Mind Spiral expansion for 罗蕾莱 and a second-stage progression addition for 琼玖.

Several combat bugs, interface issues, and event-related problems have also been addressed.

Download Sizes and Maintenance Compensation

The official notice scheduled maintenance for October 13 from 09:00 to 12:00 and warned that the duration could change.

Eligible players should check their in-game mail for compensation and claim it before the October 19 deadline.

Because of the download size, the developer recommends using a stable Wi-Fi connection and checking available device storage before updating.
