Marked for Mayhem will hold its first public playtest November 6–8, 2026, developer Bladework Games has announced. The four-player action dungeon runner asks players to tackle missions together while competing to finish ahead of everyone else.

The October 7 announcement follows the game’s reveal at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. Players can now join the official playtest waitlist, which offers sign-up through Discord or Steam.

Help Your Friends, Then Ruin Their Lead

Players, called Operators, earn medals throughout each mission. Enemy encounters and boss fights sit alongside competitive challenges, including traversal time trials, with performance feeding into the leaderboard.

Your weapon choice sets the starting point for a run, and abilities and modifiers let you develop the build as you go. But dealing the most damage isn’t the only way to get ahead.

The game’s Disruptor abilities can be aimed at rivals, and Bladework says players can redirect boss attacks toward other Operators. Apparently, surviving the boss is easier when someone else is having a much worse time.

That’s the tension worth watching here. You share a mission, but every encounter also gives you a reason to put yourself first. Whether helping the group or sabotaging a rival is the better move should make for some interesting decisions, provided the competition doesn’t drown out the cooperation.

How to Sign Up

Head to the playtest registration page and choose Discord or Steam. The page explicitly describes registration as a waitlist, so this isn’t a promise that everyone who signs up will get in.

The full game is currently listed for a 2027 release on Steam. November’s test is an early opportunity to try it, rather than the launch.
