Monster Hunter Now is introducing an entirely new equipment category with its Season 11 Wave 2 update, giving hunters another way to strengthen their builds beyond weapons and armor.

Beginning October 19, 2026, players will be able to forge Accessories, a third equipment type featuring fixed primary attributes and randomized secondary attributes. Those secondary attributes can also be rerolled using materials obtained from hunting 10-star monsters.

The update also introduces Riftborne Black Diablos, unlocks a new skill called Advanced Partbreaker through weapon style customization, and kicks off a series of limited-time events extending into November.

Season 11 Wave 2 runs from October 19 at 00:00 UTC through November 22 at 14:59 UTC, although individual events follow their own schedules.

For hunters who enjoy optimizing their equipment, Accessories could become one of the update's most significant additions, particularly as players begin experimenting with different combinations of secondary attributes.

How Accessories Work in Monster Hunter Now

Accessories are the first new equipment category to join Monster Hunter Now alongside the existing weapon and armor systems.

According to the official Season 11 Wave 2 announcement, equipping Accessories provides additional effects, including improvements to a hunter's parameters.

Each Accessory has two types of attributes:

  • Fixed attributes: Predetermined parameters attached to the Accessory.
  • Random secondary attributes: Additional parameters assigned randomly, which players can attempt to change.

Accessories can be forged using monster materials and may also be distributed as rewards during certain events.

That creates two potential ways to expand an Accessory collection: crafting equipment from gathered resources and participating in events that offer Accessories as rewards.

The system appears designed to give hunters another layer of equipment customization. Rather than relying solely on weapon choice, armor skills, and existing upgrade systems, players will be able to pursue additional attributes through their Accessories.

However, the official announcement has not yet disclosed the complete list of available attributes, Accessory slots, forging recipes, or numerical stat ranges. Niantic says more details will be provided in a future announcement.

Rerolling Accessory Attributes Requires 10-Star Monster Materials

One of the biggest additions to the Accessory system is the ability to reroll secondary attributes.

If an Accessory receives a random secondary attribute that does not suit a player's build, the new system allows that attribute to be randomly reassigned.

Rerolling consumes materials obtainable from hunting 10-star monsters.

This gives high-level hunts a new progression purpose, particularly for players who already have established weapon and armor builds.

The official announcement does not specify whether players can choose which secondary attribute to replace, preserve individual rolls, or preview the results before committing materials.

It also does not confirm reroll costs or probabilities.

Until those details are published, hunters should avoid assuming that the system guarantees a desired attribute after a particular number of attempts.

The confirmed mechanic is straightforward: secondary attributes are randomized, and rerolling them requires materials earned through 10-star hunts.

Riftborne Black Diablos Arrives With Advanced Partbreaker

Riftborne Black Diablos joins Monster Hunter Now on October 19 at 9:00 a.m. local time.

Its arrival also makes weapons forged from Black Diablos materials eligible for style customization.

Players who raise a Black Diablos weapon to style customization level 10 can unlock a new equipment skill called Advanced Partbreaker.

The skill increases damage accumulated toward breaking monster parts when Partbreaker level 5 or higher is active.

This makes the new skill especially relevant for hunters building around part breaks. The announcement does not specify the exact numerical bonus, so its effectiveness relative to existing builds remains to be seen.

For a limited period, the materials required to forge and upgrade Black Diablos weapons will also be reduced.

A dedicated Riftborne Assault: Black Diablos event runs from October 19 at 9:00 a.m. through October 25 at 11:59 p.m. local time, increasing the monster's appearance rate.

The schedule includes several opportunities to gather materials and prepare equipment for more demanding encounters.

Halloween, Riftcharged Zinogre, and More Events Are Coming

The October update is not limited to Accessories and Black Diablos.

MH Now Halloween 2026 begins October 26, bringing back style customization for weapons from previous Halloween events. Players will also be able to hunt Black Diablos and Aurora Somnacanth for event-exclusive equipment.

From November 9–15, Hunt-a-thon Week will coincide with celebrations surrounding Monster Hunter Now Carnival 2026 Osaka, which takes place November 14–15.

The final week introduces Riftcharged Zinogre as a Base Defense encounter.

Weapons made primarily from Black Diablos or Aurora Somnacanth materials will receive a 60% Defense Points bonus during the encounter. Certain Halloween weapons, including Cawscythe/Squawkscythe and Skullwhistle, will also qualify.

Players who plan to participate in Base Defense may therefore want to use the earlier events to strengthen eligible equipment.

Season 11 Wave 2 also includes temporary bonuses designed to help players gather resources and participate in more hunts.

From October 19 at 5:00 a.m. through November 23 at 4:59 a.m. local time, daily supplies increase as follows:

Double Daily Supply Rewards

October 19 – November 23, 2026

Item Normal Event
First-Aid Meds 5 10
Friend Link Tokens 1 2
Tracker Scopes 3 6
Raw Meat 2 4

The daily Friend Link participation limit also doubles during the campaign, allowing up to 40 hunts using Friend Link Tokens instead of 20.

Additionally, Ultra Hunting Tickets will temporarily allow players to participate in Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions at the same location up to three consecutive times rather than two.

What the Accessory System Means for Players

The introduction of Accessories adds a new progression system to Monster Hunter Now, and its randomized secondary attributes may become an important consideration for hunters optimizing their equipment.

The connection to 10-star monster materials also creates a reason for experienced players to continue tackling some of the game's most difficult encounters.

At the same time, the ability to obtain Accessories through events could provide alternative acquisition opportunities, depending on the rewards offered.

The biggest unanswered questions concern the precise attributes available, the costs of rerolling, and how much flexibility players will have when customizing their equipment.

Niantic has promised a follow-up announcement with more details. Until then, players can prepare for the October 19 update by planning their Black Diablos hunts and keeping an eye on the upcoming event schedule.
