ZZZ 3.3 Livestream Recap: Banners, Events, Mechs, and What’s Coming Next
Phoenix and Severian lead ZZZ 3.3, with returning banners, Halloween activities, new outfits, and combat mechs. Here’s what Journey to the Sky brings on October 21, plus the Kafka and Robin crossover reveal.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3, Journey to the Sky, arrives on October 21, 2026. Phoenix and Severian are joining the playable roster, Velina and Norma are getting reruns, and the story is taking us deeper into the trouble unfolding in Roscaelifer.
There’s plenty to keep track of this time. We have another main story chapter, new outfits, seasonal activities, a free event W-Engine, and combat mechs to pilot. The livestream also revealed which Honkai: Star Rail characters are coming to ZZZ: Kafka and Robin.
Here’s what’s coming in 3.3, what you can claim, and what we know about the crossover.
When Does ZZZ 3.3 Release?
We estimate availability around 11 a.m. UTC+8, based on the previous update’s timing. That hour remains provisional until the maintenance notice confirms it.
If that estimate holds, the update would become available at:
- Eastern: October 20 at 11 p.m. EDT
- Pacific: October 20 at 8 p.m. PDT
- United Kingdom: October 21 at 4 a.m. BST
- UTC+8: October 21 at 11 a.m.
The banner phase order has been announced, but exact channel deadlines should be checked against the final banner notices. If you’re planning a last-minute pull, use the countdown in your game.

Phoenix and Severian Lead the 3.3 Banners

Phoenix arrives in the first half of Version 3.3, with Severian following in the second. Both are S-Rank Agents, and their signature W-Engines will run during their respective phases.
Velina returns alongside Phoenix, while Norma’s rerun accompanies Severian.
| Phase | New Agent | New W-Engine | Reruns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Phoenix Fire · Anomaly Banner: Into the Flames of Life |
Plume of Rebirth | Velina Joyau Dore |
| Phase 2 | Severian Wind · Attack Banner: Answers in the Wind |
Incarcerating Grip | Norma Chief Sidekick |
Phoenix: Fire Anomaly
Phoenix’s preview highlights Anomaly critical damage and self-revival. Her attacks also build and spend a resource called Pyre.
That gives us an idea of what makes her different, but there’s still a gap between seeing a character’s mechanics and knowing how they perform in a team. Still, she looks like an amazing Agent and I'm definitely going to pull for her since I missed out on Sigrid and Claret.
Severian: Wind Attack
Severian’s gameplay revolves around evasions, counterattacks, and consuming Flow for a stronger attack. Shadowflash supports automatic evasions and counters.
If you enjoy characters whose offense rewards reacting to enemy attacks, he’s one to watch. ZZZ seems to be going nuclear on Wind-style Agents, by the way considering we just got Velina and Roxy.
Journey to the Sky Continues the Roscaelifer Story
Season 3, Chapter 4: Journey to the Sky follows the disaster affecting Booastrum and reveals more about the Sunbringers.
Phoenix comes to Vyrium to work with Phaethon and Lindverne, while Severian becomes involved in the effort to reclaim Booastrum. Those overlapping responsibilities put the two new Agents at the center of the chapter.
The new location is Quietude Isle, whose airport serves airships transporting supplies. Players will visit it during the main story.
This is supposed to be the climax when we finally uncover the mystery of Sunbringer, figure out exactly what Youkai is up to, and get some top-secret intel on The Creator.
Yes, We’re Piloting Combat Mechs

Lindverne creates combat mechs through Genesis Reconstruction. Players can alternate between melee and ranged attacks, fire lasers after an EX Special Attack or dodge, and interact with environmental objects. HoYoverse says the gameplay will remain available in future versions.
This is the addition I’m most curious about mechanically. Having multiple attack options is promising; the interesting part will be seeing how the encounters encourage us to use them.
ZZZ 3.3 Events and Free Rewards
The update’s check-in events provide 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons in total, separate from the livestream code. Make sure you check in, Proxy.
There’s also a free A-Rank W-Engine, Candlelit Scheme, obtainable by completing specific missions in Spooky Funhouse Tales.
If you’re skipping the W-Engine banners, that’s equipment worth checking when the event opens.
| Activity | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| Spooky Funhouse Tales | Drive Trickmobiles to repel unwanted visitors. Rewards include an Angels of Delusion outfit, an A-Rank W-Engine, and Proxy accessories. |
| Cyber Miracle Healer, On Duty! | Repair malfunctioning Bangboo through puzzles. |
| Trails of the Hobbling Crow | Investigate the attack on Crowe. |
| Repair! Drifting Art | Reassemble artwork from scattered pieces. |
| Enigma of the Labyrinth: Spooky Trial | Master Devil sets three escalating challenges. Compare shop offers when selling Candle Cores. |
| Spookies Recycling | A shop-management activity connected to Labyrinth challenges. |
| Annihilation Simulacrum | Combat challenges featuring three new enemies. |
| Double-Drop Events | Area Patrol and Combat Simulation return with bonus drops. |
Phoenix and Severian Get New Outfits

Phoenix has two paid outfits coming in Version 3.3: The Illness Called Life and Daydream Complex. The latter is her summer outfit.
Both are included in the Empty Daydreams bundle, which will receive a limited-time 30% discount. Severian’s Solemnly Impeccable outfit arrives with his Phase 2 banner.
| Agent | Outfit | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Phoenix | The Illness Called Life | Alternative outfit |
| Phoenix | Daydream Complex | Summer outfit |
| Severian | Solemnly Impeccable | Available during Phase 2 |
Team Recommendations and Other QoL Changes
Here is my summary of the improvements coming to Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3.
Fairy’s new roster-based team recommendations can populate presets. Some Agents receive tutorial videos, while selected combat modes gain preparation tips and guide shortcuts. Inter-Knot promotion rewards and reminders also become clearer.
That could be especially useful when you have the characters for a workable team but aren’t sure how to put them together.
Kafka and Robin Are Coming to ZZZ

Welcome to New Eridu, ladies.
Kafka and Robin were revealed for the upcoming crossover, which has a winter 2026 release window.
Their teaser appeared during the Version 3.3 broadcast, but they are not part of the announced 3.3 banner lineup. The crossover’s release window remains winter 2026.
